Workshop Short Breaks
@ Mainly Sewing:
For those of you who wish to come and do workshops, but maybe live a few hours away or live interstate, there are many wonderful places to stay on the Mornington Peninsula. It’s a good excuse to get together with a group of friends and have a short holiday break at the same time and enjoy all the tasty treats and breathtaking sights on offer here. An idyllic place for you to stay is Mainly Sewing, just around the corner from Kurrara Designs, in Main Creek Road, Main Ridge, which is owned and run by my friend Louise Appleby.
Mainly Sewing is a beautiful luxury sewing and quilting retreat with self-catering accommodation, set in 5 acres of lightly treed, attractive natural bushland. There are 5 large and stylish bedrooms, with 3 luxury bathrooms and 3 separate toilets, along with a beautiful contemporary kitchen, dining and sitting room areas. Breakfast provisions, coffee pod machine and a wide range of teas are on offer to keep you going all day! Outside there are extensive landscaped gardens to explore, where you can enjoy listening to the many birds that live there.
Louise caters for groups of up to 12 people (minimum 9) who want to get away from it all for a while and be creative. You can work on your quilting projects by yourselves or take various courses with tutors during the day and then relax, watch TV or continue sewing with friends in the evenings.
I am happy to offer tutored textile courses, on request, to your groups, in the Mainly Sewing workroom, or run 2-day workshops on eco/natural dyeing and Procion dyeing here at Kurrara Designs studio - a five minute drive away.
